Toitū Te Tiriti speaks to the uproar that has characterised the first half of 2024 in Aotearoa New Zealand. As an incoming government began in earnest their attacks on one of our key founding documents, the public outrage has echoed across the land, most often in the form of this Māori phrase.

The angular typefaces echoed letterforms layer together to create a modernised tukutuku panel, shouting this protest call out with passion. Through these echoing forms spacing has been varied to both embed a tukutuku pattern and to create a pulsing wave of voices, fighting together for a taonga of Aotearoa New Zealand.
